DAVAO CITY – Davao del Norte Provincial Acting Gov. De Carlo “Oyo” Uy vowed to promptly carry out all the tasks and obligations expected of him in his role as a public servant despite the potential political implications of his expulsion from the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP).
In his official statement, Uy said he was not formally informed of the issues behind the recent action of the HNP. He added that he only heard the news about his expulsion from the press and awaits formalities and documents to understand the situation clearly.
“My foremost commitment has always been to serve the people of Davao del Norte. Despite the potential political implications of this expulsion, rest assured that my focus firmly remains on our community’s welfare,” Uy stressed.
Uy said his dedication to their constituents transcends any party affiliation or political agenda.
“In this challenging time, I am grateful for the overwhelming support and prayers extended to me. Your unwavering solidarity strengthens and reaffirms my resolve to continue furthering the interests and aspirations of our community,” he said.
The HNP, in a statement, announced on Monday, April 15, the termination of Davao del Norte Vice Gov. Carlo “Oyo” Uy, Tagum City Mayor Rey Uy, Davao de Oro Vice Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, and Davao de Oro first district Rep. Maricar Zamora from the party.
HNP said the decision comes in light of recent events and actions that have been found to conflict with the party’s core principles and policies. It also expressed gratitude to the officials for their contributions and efforts during their time as valued political party members.
The announcement of the expulsion of the four original HNP charter members was unsigned.
It was first seen posted on Facebook and was later carried out by different social media platforms, broadcast and print media.
