For the second time, the Boys Scouts of the Philippines (BSP)-Davao City Local Council shines the brightest among other chapters as it snares this year’s overall prize for Class A Councils for the so called “Lorillard Spencer Award”.

Davao City Chapter’s back-to-back feat was announced during the 64th Online Annual National Council Meeting held at the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) National Office, 181-Almeda-Lopez Sts., Ermita, Manila, via Zoom over the week.

Under the leadership of Chairman Atty. Filemon S. Cimafranca Jr., who was also named the Most Outstanding Local Council Chairman of the BSP Class ” A” Councils for year 2019, BSP-Davao finished the year with flying colors in terms of the basis and criteria for selection that include registered scouts (40 percent), activities (20 percent), training (15 percent), advancement (15 percent) and Council operation (10 percent), a duplicate of their exceptional efforts in 2018.

From 2013 to 2019, the number of scouts registered as members has consistently increasing with unweaving support of the Members of the Board, under the leadership of Council Chairpersons, and the chairman himself.

There are about 124 BSP Local Councils in the entire Philippines including Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Southern Tagalog region, Northern Luzon region, Bicol region, Eastern and Visayas regions and here Mindanao ( Eastern and Western Mindanao regions).
